In many paintings of fantasy I realized the night, not in those from the truth because it is a bit 'more difficult to organize (to see the canvas is a light and then you lose a little' dark ...) but these days I tried and I painted the mandarins and this candle.
While feeling a person who loves light and the brightness I liked the dark because it emerges and also enhances ; feeble light. This candle I painted the "dark" only its light lit up the Christmas atmosphere of toys and a small light in the room very discreet, softly illuminating the painting.
It happens so (often in real life) to see the light must be a bit 'in the dark and begin to open their eyes.
